- How far is Ranthambore National Park from Jaipur?
160 km to Sawai Madhopur, about three hours. The park gates are a further 10 to 15 minutes depending on which zone you are allocated.
- Do you drop at the safari gate or at the hotel?
Either — tell us which. Most people go to the hotel first because safari gypsies collect from hotels. If you are doing a day trip without a hotel, we drop you at the zone gate and wait.
- Does the taxi fare include the safari booking?
No. The safari permit and the gypsy or canter seat are booked through the forest department and are not ours to sell. Our fare is the car, the driver, and the waiting. We would rather tell you that now than have you find out at the gate.
- What time should we leave Jaipur for a morning safari?
Morning safaris typically start around 6:30 am, so a 3:00 am departure from Jaipur is needed to make one the same day. Most people prefer to drive down the previous afternoon and stay the night — it is a better trip and it avoids the night allowance.
