Pushkar is 15 km from Ajmer over the Nag Pahar hill, about 25 minutes. Nobody sensibly does one without the other, and every fare on this page assumes you are doing both.
- Is Jaipur to Ajmer and Pushkar comfortable as a single day trip?
Yes, and it is the most common way to do it. Two and three-quarter hours each way leaves you six or seven hours on the ground if you leave Jaipur by 7:00 am. It is a long day but not a rushed one.
- How close to Ajmer Sharif Dargah can the car drop us?
Not to the gate. The lanes around the Dargah are too narrow for a car and are usually closed to traffic. The driver will drop you at the nearest permitted point, roughly a five to ten minute walk, and tell you exactly where he will be waiting.
